Very useful
By B. Day
This book is very well laid out (worked great as a E book), for a developer it proceeds in the perfect order. A small descriptive introduction to each subject followed by a few examples in pseudo code then a reasonable set of real examples using the sample database. This layout makes it very useful as a reference; it is easy to find the command you need and the information is easy to see.

It does not set out to be an exhaustive volume on everything database but it does recommend books to provide information on other database topics.

The length is perfect, covering all the basic commands I needed and some I have not used yet.

Starts With the Basics and goes to Moderately Advanced
By David Deley
A well written useful book that goes into some moderately advanced material. At the same time it does start with the basics, but unlike other books which start and stop with the basics, this book goes a bit deeper into complexity. Well documented numerous examples are supplied.

Excellent primer on SQL
By Mr. Varma
Terrific book that clarifies the nuts and bolts of SQL like no other book I've encountered on the subject. I still refer back to it frequently when trying new approaches.
