Excellent comprehensive resource for all athletes

Excellent comprehensive resource for all athletes. An abundance of information collected by one of the best in the business in a quick and useful handbook. This book provides a nice guide that tells readers why, what, and when workouts are important. Great for all levels from novice to elite. As noted by the author, "Even the most elite athlete, EVERY athlete, was once a beginner." Leaves you wanting more. Hopefully the first of several.

Tremendous Resource

This book is an incredible resource for varsity team coaches, strength/ performance coaches and individual athletes. Coach Hudy's immense experience in coaching elite athletes and her passion for detailed and constant analysis of methods and results has given her unparalleled knowledge in training techniques.

In the book she explains how to exactly define the physical requirements for each athlete based on sport and position. After clearly describing the differences in these athletes and their requirements, she gives complete workouts for each type of athlete. First she goes over movement exercises and then strength exercises. This is done on a full macrocycle basis and is very complete. In addition she has included nutrition plans containing sections on pre-workout, post-workout and regular meals.

The book is an easy, enjoyable read, yet it is packed with so much information that it is also a serious reference and belongs on the desk of anyone involved in sports.
